Dealing With The Current Economic Crisis
Our world appears to be in a state of crisis right now with strange weather patterns, recessions, economic crisis, rising gas and food prices and other factors that are obvious to most of us. However it is important in these times to stay focused on the positive. We are really going through birthing pains that are requiring us, as individuals and as a whole to live our life differently and make different choices. For example with rising Gas and Food prices we can complain or we can look for alternatives.
One alternative is to change our lifestyle to require less driving, carpooling, taking the bus, riding our bike, and walking. We can begin growing gardens and finding alternatives to nutrition that may very well be the healthiest decision you've made in a long time. Even if you live in the City you can grow window gardens, patio gardens, yard gardens and so on. You can join with neighbors to participate in community garden project or share food. Get involved in your local farmers markets and support locally grown food. Learn to sprout, dehydrate your food, can, freeze or whatever methods you can find that preserve the nutritional value of your food. Find places where you can buy staple foods such as brown rice and beans in bulk and keep a supply on hand.
This is a time to simplify and pay attention to your diet. Focus on eating healthy foods that are grown from the earth, and work on eliminating all processed foods that compromise your health.
Not only are we being asked to simplify our diets but also our lifestyles in general. Watch where you are spending your money. Work on cleaning out your closets, storage areas and garages and moving on those things you no longer need or use. The less we feed the retail consumer entity the better. Get what you really need, focus on quality and longevity, and stop spending just for the sake of spending.
Spend more time in nature, more quiet meditative time, and more time nurturing your relationships with those who you choose to have a relationships with. Cut lose those toxic relationships that are draining your energy or are a drain on your family. You are under no obligation to spend your life-force energy on those who don't value you or respect you. The way we respect and honor ourselves is to demand that others treat us as we deserve to be treated. If people in your life can't treat you with love and respect than they don't need to be in your life.
It is important to realize, in these times, that we are living in the microcosm of the macrocosm. The shifts happening externally are also happening to all of us, in some degree, internally. We are being asked to truly let go of the material trappings of the world and go within to cultivate an authentic relationship with ourselves. Discover who we are and what our gifts are and then find ways to share our gifts with the world. This is what our purpose for being here right now is. We can easily fall asleep and be part of the sleepwalking society, but our call is to awaken now. Our call is to get to the root of who we are and live our lives from that awakened state.
If you are looking for greater happiness and fulfillment in your life, start with that person in the mirror. The answers you seek are truly within.
